Henderson Garage wants everyone to be able to use this website, including people who browse with a screen reader, a keyboard alone, or at a high zoom level.

What we aim for

We work to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. That is the standard most commonly applied to business websites in the United States.

What we have done

Every form field has a visible label that is properly connected to its input
Text meets the 4.5:1 contrast minimum against its background
A “Skip to main content” link lets keyboard users bypass the navigation
Every page has a main landmark and headings in order
The whole site can be operated with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline
The site works at 200% zoom and on small screens
Animation is reduced automatically if your device asks for that

We deliberately do not use an accessibility overlay or accessibility widget. Those products do not make a site accessible, and courts have not accepted them as a substitute for building the site properly.

Where we know we fall short

This is an ongoing effort rather than a finished job. We have not had the site formally audited by a third party, and we have not tested it with every combination of assistive technology. If you hit something that does not work, we would genuinely rather hear about it.

If you cannot use the website to reach us, call the shop during opening hours and we will take your request over the phone. Nothing on this site is the only way to do business with us.
